While Abel possesses a broad, sophisticated and flexible array of standard functionality, many organizations will have a requirement for customized functionality in order to meet their specific business needs. To cater for this Abel has developed the Abel User Schema.

The Abel User Schema is a separate development environment available to the End User where customized computer code within the Abel application can be developed.  The Abel User Schema is positioned above the Abel application and allows the End Users customized computer code to directly interface into the already formed objects and methods of the Abel application, thus gaining access to the functionality, security, navigation, data structures and data integrity of Abel.  This provides the End User with an inexpensive mechanism for customization, should it be required.

Rapid Application Development (RAD)

Rapid Application Development (RAD) is becoming increasingly important as the need to get new applications developed more quickly and accurately and more economically.

Abel is an Object Oriented design which is highly conducive to RAD.  Object Oriented design has a high level of reusability, which enables developers to reuse existing objects and methods in the software to build new applications. Abel's User Schema provides many objects that can be reused, therefore facilitating Abel RAD projects.

Development Licence Requirement

To develop in the Abel User Schema, you must possess a JADE Development Access License, which is a product of JADE Software Corporation Limited. The JADE Development Access License is not included with the Abel Software or in Abel License charges and is sold and supported by JADE Software Corporation Limited.
