Abel by name - Able by nature

Abel Software shares its name "Abel" with the 17th century Dutch explorer Abel Tasman, who in December 1642 became the first European to discover New Zealand.

In 1996, Abel Software began its own voyage of discovery as Tasman Computing with the sole aim of producing the best Enterprise Resource Planning software for medium sized enterprises.  Since the first customer release of Abel in New Zealand in 1998, we have been progressively implementing Abel internationally, enabling a diverse range of enterprises to achieve the benefits of a powerful integrated business solution. 

In 2002, in recognition of the success of our flagship product, Tasman Computing changed its trading name to Abel Software.

Today the Abel ERP software continues to be developed by our skilled team at the company’s headquarters in Auckland.
