Business to Business Electronic Data Interchange (B2B EDI) can be used to automate logistics documents with your distributors and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
Examples:
- Sales Order – Abel informs your 3PL warehouse of a Sales Order and instructs them to ship the goods.
- Pick Confirmation – When your 3PL despatches the goods they send Abel a pick confirmation which updates the despatch in Abel with actual quantities, batches and packaging details of the goods that were sent.
- Various freight functions for managing consignments.
These EDIs work through supported third-party VAN providers such as SPS Commerce, B2BE and Crossfire or Freight Agents such as TIG Freight Management.

Abel has developed a number of interfaces for B2B EDI with freight and logistics providers. These include:
- Mainfreight
- Amazon
- E Shipping
- TIG Freight Management
There is usually a structured testing process to go through with major logistics providers before they will grant approval to trade electronically. The Abel team has a depth of experience that will help guide you through the EDI implementation, testing and approval process.
