  • Mobile Developers

    This role reports to the Software Development Manager. He is looking for developers to join the cross-platform Mobile Application Team. This is a challenging and exciting role where you will be developing Mobile solutions as well as liaising with our support, documentation, and consulting teams.

    You must be an excellent C# Dot NET developer with experience building Web APIs. You would ideally have experience using Xamarin, MVVM methodology and preferably have experience working with a large database application.

  • Technical Writer

    This role reports to Abel’s Technical Communicator. She is looking for an experienced technical writer to work with her on a mix of technical and business writing. Technical documentation for the Abel Software is done using Madcap Flare and published in both HTML5 and in PDF formats. Business writing is done using Microsoft® Word, mainly to support sales and marketing activities or produce copy for the website.

    This role involves:

    1. Writing release notes, installation instructions, user guides and other technical documentation for Abel Software (in Madcap Flare) and assisting with software testing when required
    2. Using Madcap Flare to publish the documentation in PDF and in HTML5 formats including; release notes, online documentation for customers and online technical documentation for internal use
    3. Maintaining the structure and organization of the documentation, including running the Flare Analyzer and dealing with any issues such as broken links or unused items
    4. Writing and editing of sales and marketing documents, website copy and business documents (Microsoft® Word)

    Your Skills

    Minimum 5 years’ experience including technical writing for software. Preferred skills include:

    1. Ability to talk with software developers, understand complex concepts and write in plain English
    2. Experience with writing and structuring software documentation for end users
    3. Experience with online documentation and / or online help
    4. Knowledge of Madcap Flare or other authoring software
    5. Solid Microsoft Word skills, especially the “long documents” features
    6. Knowledge of ERP software, manufacturing or financial software would be beneficial.
