This is a “tips and time savers” blog – highlighting handy features you might not be aware of that can help in your day-to-day use of Abel.
At times you may wish to add up figures in an Abel table, like for example when you want to quickly add up a couple of Line Values on a Customer Invoice. The good news is, there is no need to get a calculator or a spreadsheet out to accomplish this, most Abel screens that have tables support adding up selected figures from those tables.
How to select and add up figures in a table on an Abel screen
Selecting and adding up is easy, just press and hold the Alt key and use your mouse to select the cells with the figures you want to add up.
Abel highlights each selected cell so you can see which cells you have selected and displays a running total of the selected figures in the status bar.
If you accidentally select more figures than you intended, just click the cell a second time to de-select the figure and Abel instantly removes it from the total.
