Kitsets are pre-defined collections of inventory items that are stocked as individual items and sold as a kitset. e.g. first-aid kit, safety kit, hardware fittings kit. Both the Kit and the items within it are entered as inventory items. Kits can have BOMs that list the inventory items they contain.
Pricing can be done at the Kitset level or rolled up from the item prices. The benefit of rolled-up pricing is that Abel will automatically re-calculate the price if the quantities of the sub-kit lines are maintained whereas Kit level pricing must be maintained manually when the makeup of the kit changes. Kitsets and their line items are defined in the Kitset Maintenance screen:

In Customer Quotes or Customer Orders, the worker enters the Kitset code and Abel retrieves the individual line items (Skits). Both are displayed on the Customer Order screen with the line items (Skits) color coded in green.

Stock issue is done at the line item level using “Skit” lines. When you Despatch a kitset, the line items (Skits) are issued from stock. Sales and sales analysis is done at the Kitset level. When you Invoice a kitset, the kitset (as a whole) is recorded as the sale and the Skits are ignored
