Product Announcement: Today we are announcing the release of Version 7 of Abel, our flagship ERP software, along with our new Business Intelligence Reporting Suite Abel BI, developed using Microsoft® Power BI®. This milestone is the culmination of a major body of work, incorporating both popular requests from our Customers and significant user experience innovations by our dedicated Abel team.
What’s New in Version 7
- New Light Mode and Dark Mode – each user can choose their preferred mode.
- “The Navigator” a new multi-function panel on the left of Abel screens.
- The Navigator has multiple tabs with new features and improvements to existing functions:
- Function buttons – now with search capability.
- Reports – Quickly launch reports for the current screen.
- “Your Voyage” – View the screens you’ve visited recently and the last record you viewed on each one.
- Messages – View a summary of your Abel message inbox.
- Quick Links – Create your own links to launch your most-used screens and reports
- A new “Global Search” enables you to do a keyword that searches across menu items, documents, master data and recent searches.
- A new button group moves a document through its lifecycle and shows its current status.
Introducing Abel BI Reporting Suite
Our new Abel BI Reporting Suite leverages your Abel data with the powerful capabilities of Microsoft Power BI to provide you with:
- Powerful reporting through graphical visualisations.
- Summary views of your data with options and filters so you can drill down to the detail.
- “Out of the box” BI reports so you can explore your data through interactive visualisations at any time, including remotely via the Power BI app on your mobile device.
- A framework to develop your own BI reports based on the data tables and views in Abel BI.
New Customers
We are also proud to share that two new Abel customers are going live with Abel Version 7 on 1 April, 2025, one in Australia, and the other in New Zealand. Their implementations will also include Abel’s new BI Reporting Suite.
